June 15, 2025 Writing Prompts for the Week
Happy Sunday! I have a challenge for you this week:
Try to notice something new each day that you’ve normally driven or walked right past.
It’s a great exercise for shaking ourselves out of our ruts and can add a bit of whimsy to our normal routines. (“Hey! That house has a statue of a lion in the yard. How did I never see that before?”)
Once you start making it a habit, it’ll get pretty fun. Speaking of enjoyable habits, how about a few prompts?
This Week’s Prompts*
"Five, four, three, two, one," she held her nose, readjusted the seat of her swimsuit, and jumped.
The main lodge was small and dark; the mountains were out there, but they were hidden behind expanses of pine planks.
Describe what happens when a town wakes up to a sickly green-colored sky.
The dentist inserted a second tube into the other side of her mouth and she groaned.
"Yup, that one's leaky too," he said, as if the stream of water down my wall didn't make that obvious.
Clemson was famous for his theories about subtle social signaling, but the man was oblivious to an outright snub.
Behind her back—but with full knowledge of their boss—her coworkers called her, "Snip."
